A wood carver from Lviv region has devoted himself to the revival of the traditional Yavoriv toy. Together with his two brothers and the son they cut folk toys from aspen and decorate them with the local folk ornaments.

Creative work

For Yavoriv toy the master uses aspen which from the ancient times has been considered as possessing the ability to scare the evil away. So the master and his assistants’ hands give birth to such folk toys as landrails, horses with and without carts, birds with movable wings, cradles, traps, clappers, toy furniture and other movable toys.

The master paints wood in bright colors and decorates it with traditional Yavoriv ornaments.
