Rayisa Pavlenko weaves all the traditional oberegs (guardian talismans) used by Ukrainians in the olden times. Pompous didukhs (kinds of trees made of different cereal ears as symbols of wealth) of the master have gained especial fame. She creates them each year to the Christmas celebrations. Also the artist likes to weave angels and birds which are considered to be the symbols of the Holy Spirit.
The artist makes inlays from straw and weaves different handiworks from it. From the rye stems she weaves oberegs to every holiday, in particular – didukhs, angels, verteps (a nativity scene, a depiction of the birth of Jesus), spiders, the Savior day wreaths and bouquets. Also, she makes inlaid pictures and bijouterie from straw.
