It can be said that clay is woven into this master’s life. Every day he either teaches someone to work with clay or is himself occupied with his “Cossack” pottery till late at night. The process of this creative work is being constantly observed by Cossack Mamay painted by Anatoly himself on the wall.
Practically all clay decorating and shaping techniques known in Ukrainian applied art are represented in the handiworks of this master. Here, there are figurative ornaments on plates; images of sacral symbols of Podillya pottery; creative search – variations of flyandrivka technique (national Ukrainian technique in majolica with paints applied on wet clay). Also, there is traditional decorative shaped sculpture including lembicks (decorative crockery having animal shapes), candlesticks and kurishky (small decorative chicken) – everything that represented Ukrainian national pottery at all times.
