A special place in this artist’s creative work belongs to Ukrainian folk musical instruments. Ceramic ocarinas, whistles and khykhychkas (ceramic musical noise instruments having a shape of a sphere often used to serve as rattles for children) – all the instruments that have reached us from great antiquity and used to be widespread in many nations – earlier often used to be involved in different magical and spiritual ceremonies. Nowadays, one can listen to such instruments at the concerts of ethnical music.
Archaic, pure and genuine point of world view is represented in the handiworks of Fedir Kurkchi – an artist working with ceramics. But a special place in the master’s creative work belongs to folk musical instruments, the secrets of creation of which have survived nowadays only with few masters of ceramics.
