Oleksiy is a stone carver from all his heart. Some time ago he left the capital to seclude himself with his family close to the sandstone quarry in Bukatynka village, Vinnytsya region. He wanted to carve elegant images of his world perception and world outlook out of stone lumps.
Creative work
Olexiy Alyoshkin creates marvelous improvisations – sculptures from sandstone. He finds themes for them in the heritage of the ancestors and digs as deep into it as thousands of years. He embodies in the stone different mythology images, images of vegetative and animal life. He touches upon the Cossack theme and historical plots.
Beside the stone carving, Olexiy Alyoshkin together with his wife works with ceramics, graphical art, makes vytynankas, runs a puppet and shadow theater, organizes different actions and holidays.
